This map box is of Land’s End and Lizard – the southern most point in the UK. It is an Ordnance Survey map, 5th edition, and is from c. 1936.
Map boxes are a stylish addition to any wall; their colour, detail and vintage charm is brought to life thanks to the unique way they are framed.
Carefully and professionally crafted from American black walnut in our workshop by the Thames, the maps are cut to perfectly fit the back and sides of the box, giving an additional depth to the region and topography featured.
They also double as a shelf for keys or sunglasses, making them ideal to use in the hallway or living room. We can also add hooks underneath at no extra cost to hang keys from.
The perfect gift for a wedding or birthday, featuring an area, city or country that they love.
Dimensions in cm: 75W x 46H x 9.5D

Please note: whilst these boxes are fresh out of the workshop, some of the maps they feature are vintage and most are decades old, one or two even a century! Their condition is used. Part of their charm lies in the creases of the repeated folds, an errant stain from a picnic or even the odd note or mark added to highlight a route or destination.
Your map box comes ready to be hung from a slotted picture plate hanger (included). They only weigh a few kilos and will happily hang from a picture pin, nail or small screw.
