Coffee Tramp Table

This unusual coffee table is a one-off and is one of the first examples of ‘zero-waste woodworking‘ by Bertram. Upon finding a discarded exercise trampoline from a circus, the challenge was to give it a new lease of life as a coffee table – to refashion an object that used to generate motion into one that imparts relative steadiness.

The table is functional and strong. The trampoline element is securely attached to the circular timber frame, however using the table as a trampoline is advised against for anyone over the age of 2 years.

Through-stained black poplar veneer and meranti.
Etched zinc jetplate signed by the maker embedded in the underside.
